The Best Questions to Ask Your Budtender

In Ontario, anybody who works in a cannabis retail store must complete a cannabis retail employee training program. The budtenders at your local Authourized Retailer know Ontario cannabis laws. They'll also have product knowledge and information on the different consumption methods.
Even the most experienced cannabis consumers might not be sure what to ask their budtender. The JADEO team has compiled a few of our favourite questions to ask when purchasing cannabis. The budtenders at your local dispensary will be happy to help answer these questions - and any others you might have!

"I’m not sure where to start. Can you help me?"

Whether you are new to in-store cannabis shopping or completely new to cannabis, ask a budtender to guide you.

The JADEO team always recommends that you start low and go slow and your budtender will likely agree! In some stores, you’ll be able to smell different products and a budtender can guide you through terpenes and help you find the perfect product for you.

"How do I consume this product?"

Some cannabis products are really straightforward to use, like a pre-roll or a vape pen. However, other products require specific techniques and maybe even some extra equipment.

If you are trying something new, but aren’t sure how to consume it, just ask your budtender! They’ll be able to talk about the method of consumption and give you recommendations.

"I am buying for a specific activity, what strain would you recommend?"

Whether it’s a night in with your significant other, a concert with friends, or an afternoon binge-watching your favourite show, there is no one-size-fits-all type of cannabis experience.

If you aren’t sure which strain or product would fit the mood, don’t be afraid to ask your budtender. They should be able to give you some guidance.
